On August 17, 2025, Tesla introduced the “Luxe Package” for its flagship models, the Model S and Model X, in the United States, and increased the prices of all configuration versions of both models by $10,000.
Following the price increase, the all-wheel-drive version of the Model S is priced at $94,990, the Model S Plaid version at $109,990, the all-wheel-drive version of the Model X at $99,990, and the Model X Plaid version at $114,990.
The “Luxe Package” includes the following four value-added services:
1. FSD (Supervised): The vehicle can achieve autonomous driving in almost any location with minimal driver intervention, priced at $8,000 when purchased separately.
2. Four-year premium service: Includes wheel and tire protection, windshield protection, and recommended maintenance services, priced at approximately $3,200.
3. Supercharging: Free charging at over 70,000 Supercharging stations worldwide. Tesla recently valued this service at 5,000 USD in a promotional campaign.
4. Advanced Connectivity: Access music, movies, and real-time traffic updates without Wi-Fi, valued at approximately 1,000 USD.
Overall, the value of this package exceeds $25,000. However, this move has sparked market controversy. On one hand, the price increase may make some consumers feel that the cost of purchasing a vehicle has risen, especially for those who were originally eligible for the U.S. federal tax credit. On the other hand, the “Luxury Package” holds some appeal for high-mileage drivers and consumers planning to use the Model S or Model X for daily commuting or long-distance driving.
